Darren Till has admitted that he still gets the itch to go back to the UFC despite heading into his biggest boxing fight yet.

The former middleweight contender last competed in the octagon at the end of 2022, giving eventual champion Dricus Du Plessis arguably his hardest UFC fight to that point. Now, he is Misfits Boxing’s biggest star and set to headline on pay-per-view against Luke Rockhold on Saturday night.

While he currently is focusing on the boxing ring, he is still considered a serious threat in the octagon after leaving the UFC on his own terms.

Darren Till still eyeing UFC return after Misfits Boxing run

Speaking with Bloody Elbow ahead of his headline fight this weekend, Darren Till admitted that he still finds himself wanting to return to the octagon at times. However, he would need to return to MMA training and undo some habits he has learned for his boxing career.

“I don’t know,” Till replied when asked if his career in the cage was officially finished. “I still have the itch for it sometimes. So whenever I’m done with Misfits we’ll see… I do think I’ve still got it in me there’s just a few things I’d need to focus up on.

“So obviously I’ll need to take some time, focus up on those things and then who knows? I think the story is not over.”

Darren Till and Luke Rockhold have had heated feud

The rivalry between Till and Rockhold has been growing in intensity to a boiling point ahead of today’s ceremonial weigh-ins. The Brit has even formed an unlikely alliance with Dillon Danis, who allegedly hurt the former middleweight champion in a scuffle at weigh-ins.

Yesterday’s press conference took a long time to even get started as the main event duo couldn’t stop going after each other violently. Several members of security were doing their best to stop Till and Rockhold from attacking each other.

The former UFC middleweight champion was trying to jump over tables to get to his next opponent. Till then tried to go around them but had to settle for barking insults at Rockhold from a safe distance and cameras cut away from the ugly incident for a few moments to allow things to calm down.
