At Misfits 22 this weekend, some big names in combat sports will share the card in Manchester, England.
It always seemed likely that there would be some drama on fight week, and this was certainly the case at the press conference on Thursday.
Darren Till and Luke Rockhold clashed ahead of their main event for the promotion’s inaugural bridgerweight title.
However, ‘The Gorilla’ wasn’t the only person who engaged in a war of words with the former UFC champion who will stand across from him in the ring.
Controversial star Dillon Danis, who will compete in his long-awaited MMA return, also butted heads with Rockhold, with the tension seemingly being elevated at the weigh-ins.
Luke Rockhold reportedly injured in backstage fight at Misfits 22 weigh-ins
A report from Happy Punch claims that there was some kind of backstage fight between Dillon Danis and Luke Rockhold before both men weighed-in for Saturday night’s event.
Danis had a lot to say about the former UFC champion at the press conference, with several personal shots not sitting well with one half of the main event.
Happy Punch’s post also shows a scuffle between the two men, where Danis appears to be pushing Rockhold into a wall while security attempts to separate them.
Another image seemingly shows a sizeable bruise and cut on Rockhold’s back, though this hasn’t been confirmed as of yet.
Danis, who has shared a lot of posts about his insults directed at Rockhold on Instagram, also reposted the report and the photo of the brawl, writing “Eat that b—-” on his story.
Misfits Boxing co-president Mams Taylor also posted Happy Punch’s report on his Instagram story, adding an emoji of a person holding their hand up to their face in disappointment.
Dillon Danis also targeted KSI at the Misfits 22 press conference
During the Misfits Boxing 22 press conference, it wasn’t just Luke Rockhold that Dillon Danis wanted to raise some issues with.
The controversial star attempted to get KSI to agree to fight him in MMA if he wins his fight on Saturday via knockout.
KSI didn’t agree to this, though he did try to offer to double Danis’ money if he gets his hand raised via this method rather than leaning on his grappling background.
Danis will face MMA newcomer Warren Spencer on the card for the inaugural Misfits light heavyweight MMA title.
