Moses Itauma is the current talk of the heavyweight division, with many respected voices in boxing predicting he will soon become champion.

The young Brit has been flawless in his 13 professional fights to date. His latest outing was perhaps his most impressive yet, finishing off former world title challenger Dillian Whyte in the first round.

Whyte had been expected to be Itauma’s toughest test to date, having shared the ring with the likes of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, however the 20-year-old made light work of the veteran in a fashion few saw coming.

Immediately after the victory, talk of a potential bout with current undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk began to circulate.

One man who believes Itauma has the beating of the Ukrainian star is Fury. Although Usyk handed ‘The Gypsy King’ his only two career defeats, the former two-time champion believes youth would prevail over experience in this particular match-up, predicting Itauma to ‘wreck him’.

“I keep getting asked about young Moses Itauma fighting Oleksandr Usyk and fighting all the other big names.

My opinion is not someone who doesn’t know boxing. My opinion is someone who has been there and won every single belt. Won everything there is to win in boxing and done very well. Boxing is a young man’s game, like I told Wladimir Klitschko when he was 37. Boxing is a young man’s game. It waits for nobody.

So here is the opinion, and you heard it here first: Moses Itauma will wreck all them all old men out of the division. Usyk, AJ, Miller. Whoever there is that’s old. Zhang, whoever else the f—k there is. Luis Ortiz. All these big names of the past.

Even the man who took my belts. Usyk, Moses will wreck him because it’s a young man versus an old man. And an old man can’t mess with a young man.”

Whilst Usyk has praised Itauma’s performance and said he is ready for top fights, his team believe the young Brit is a few fights away from challenging their man. Itauma is expected back out in December, whilst Usyk continues to take a break after his historic victory over Daniel Dubois in July.
