The Young and the Restless casting news of late has been top-notch. First, Days of Our Lives’ Billy Flynn (Chad) stepped into the role of Cane, then news came that his former Salem co-star Tamara Braun (ex-Ava) had been cast as Sienna and yesterday it was announced that legendary daytime vet Roger Howarth would be heading to the CBS soap in a new mystery role.

Fans weren’t the only ones excited to hear that there would be another “Todd Manning” sighting this fall in Genoa City. If you were a fan of One Life to Live, you know Howarth created the role — the same one later played by Trevor St. John (ex-Tucker). What also makes his latest role exciting, it that Howarth will be heading back to the network where he played Jory on Guiding Light and Paul on As the World Turns — not to mention, he’ll be reunited with one his former General Hospital co-stars…

Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), who shared the screen with Howarth as Port Charles’ Nina when he played Franco, took to her official Instagram to post photos and shared her excitement about the new additions to the soap and cheered, “I could not be happier to be posting this! Not only because these two are extra extraordinary actors, but because they are my friends! Our show just got a little more bad ass, Tamara Braun and Roger Howarth,” then teased, “Just so you know, more surprises to come, Young & Restless, get ready.”
