After an impressive season in the OHL for Vancouver Canucks prospect Anthony Romani, the forward is moving on to Michigan State in the NCAA for 2025-2026, and is set to play on the biggest stage of his life.
Anthony Romani to feature in MASSIVE Penn State vs Michigan State game
The NCAA announced that Penn State will host Michigan State on January 31, 2026 in an outdoor game at the university’s football stadium, Beaver Stadium.
In his freshman season with the school, Romani could be playing in front of over 100,000 fans at this event.
It will be the first time ice hockey has been played at the stadium, also featuring Penn State’s women’s hockey team facing off against Robert Morris University.
The school’s Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Patrick Kraft said the game would be a historic moment for the school and its hockey programs and highlights the growth of Penn State hockey.
This is a historic moment for Penn State Hockey, our fans, and the entire Penn State community… To bring the excitement of college hockey to Beaver Stadium is truly special. Having our men’s program face a premier Big Ten opponent in Michigan State and our women’s program face Robert Morris on this stage reflects the incredible growth and national profile of Penn State Hockey – Patrick Kraft
Alongside Romani, that game will feature some big name prospects including his Michigan State teammates Porter Martone and Cayden Lindstrom, and on the other side – most notably – project 2026 first overall pick Gavin McKenna.
