The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), under its ATAL Academy programme, has awarded ₹1 lakh to Gayatri Vidya Parishad College for degree and PG courses at Rushikonda here, for conducting a six-day online faculty development programme (FDP) on ‘Quantum Computing with Artificial Intelligence: Convergence and Applications.’

It was announced at the valedictory session led by P.V. Sarma, member, Gayatri Vidya Parishad. Principal K.S. Bose and engineering director P.V. Vinay were present.

Mr. Sarma said the FDP, which began on August 25, witnessed participation of 455 faculty members from across the country and aimed at bridging the knowledge gap in emerging quantum technologies.

Nearly 50% of the sessions were led by industry experts in quantum technologies, including two sessions by researchers from University College London, the U.K.

The FDP was coordinated by G.R.S. Murthy, head of the department, and faculty member D.S.S.N. Raju. The programme featured sessions by academicians from IITs and NITs.
