September movie and TV show offerings from Netflix are starting strong, with the highly-anticipated return of Wednesday Season 2, Part 2, which will feature Lady Gaga. But next month also marks the release of a new series about the Guinness family dynasty, a new show, Wayward, from Toronto-born talent Mae Martin, and a new documentary on Charlie Sheen.

But while we wait for new films and shows to arrive on Netflix, Canadians are losing some beloved content as well. Particularly, hit shows Prison Break and The Good Place will be removed from Netflix in September, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also leaving the streaming site.

For movie lovers, the 1996 movie Matilda will be removed from Netflix, along with Sandra Bullock’s 2000 film Miss Congeniality, and Fried Green Tomatoes, starring Mary Stuart Masterson, Kathy Bates, Jessica Tandy and Mary-Louise Parker.

Additionally, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie will be removed from Netflix, along with Tina Fey’s Mean Girls, the 2004 version starring Lindsay Lohan. So is the 1987 movie Dirty Dancing, starring Jennifer Grey and the late Patrick Swayze.

For fans of One Piece, a variety of content based on the manga series will be leaving the streaming site in September, as well as RuPaul’s Drag Race.

What to watch on Netflix: New TV shows and moviesWednesday, Season 2, Part 2 — Sept. 3

Wednesday Season 2 continues in September, featuring guest stars Frances O’Connor, Gwendoline Christie and Lady Gaga in the second part of the season.

While there’s been secrecy around Lady Gaga’s role in the show, we know that she plays Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore teacher, described as “mysterious and enigmatic.”

aka Charlie Sheen — Sept. 10

The two-part documentary aka Charlie Sheen looks at the Hollywood star’s rise to fame, and most public tabloid stories and spectacles. Directed by Andrew Renzi, Sheen opens up about his life in a way we haven’t seen before, with seven years of sobriety behind him.

“A guy like him has a lot to offer the world with that story,” Renzi told Tudum. “A lot of times we are scared of hearing from people who have done things we might not agree with, when in reality we should be listening to them.”

“Who better to reveal these kinds of things and to talk about these missteps? I find that to be a beautiful arc.”

Black Rabbit — Sept. 18

Making its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Sept. 7, the movie Black Rabbit, starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman, will arrive on the streaming site later in the month.

Set in New York City, Jake Friedken (Law) owns the popular Black Rabbit restaurant, but when his brother Vince (Bateman) arrives in the city unexpectedly, Jake gets pulled into his brother’s troubles.

Wayward — Sept. 25

Also premiering at TIFF, the upcoming series Wayward, created by Canadian talent Mae Martin, is a thriller set in a town called Tall Pines, the location of a school for “troubled teens.” When Alex Dempsey (Martin) and pregnant wife Laura (Gadon) move to the area, Alex meets two students, Abbie (Sydney Topliffe) and Leila (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and stats to suspect that the head of the school, Evelyn (Toni Collette), is behind a series of unusual events.
