Kathryn Croft will attempt to finish her new novel, written in public, in seven days
The public will be able to witness a new novel being created as the writer is penning it live in a bookshop in Guildford, Surrey.
Kathryn Croft will make the attempt in Paper Moon in Jeffries Passage from Monday morning.
She will try to complete an 80,000-word novel in seven days, writing during the shop’s opening hours of 10:00 to 18:00 BST.
Her attempt will also be live-streamed on her website.
Ms Croft, who writes psychological thrillers and has already sold two million books, said: “This is the most intense creative challenge I’ve ever taken on, and it will push me to my limits.
“I’m doing it not just for the personal goal, but to celebrate independent bookshops and show what it really takes to write a novel from scratch.”
