The goal of every baseball fan is to have fun on their trip to the ballpark.

But one couple in Sacramento got a bit too frisky during a game this past weekend – and when it was caught on camera, the reaction from the game’s broadcast announcers went viral.

During the fifth inning of the game between the Texas Rangers and Athletics, the camera focused on a couple of fans who appeared to be eating some ice cream treats, which the announcers commented on.

When the TV broadcast returned to the man and the woman after showing the next pitch, the man smiled at the woman and then proceeded to reach over and rub her breast.

The camera quickly panned away and then cut back to the game action as one commentator laughed on air.

“You are a handful, Chris, let me tell you,” the commentator said, referring to broadcast partner Chris Caray, who does play-by-play for A’s.

The pair must have found the interaction as funny — as most people on social media did —  because the next 22 seconds of the broadcast was mostly dead air until the Rangers batter hit an inning-ending fly out to centre field.

That’s when Caray unmuted his mic – we assume – and called the play while barely containing his laughter as the team walked off the field and the broadcast went to commercial break.

“A’s down by a few, they’ll try to grab a couple back” the other commentator quipped.

Fans on social media ate up the clip, with a post by Jomboy Media racking up more than 5.4 million views since Saturday.

“The “handful” line was great … But the subtle double down of “grab a couple back” on the outro was ABSOLUTELY LEGENDARY!!” X user Tommy G replied.

“And they said baseball wouldn’t thrive in Sacramento,” another user commented.

There wasn’t too much for A’s fans to cheer as the rival Rangers won the matchup 9-3 before completing the sweep with a 9-6 win on Sunday. The A’s, who are playing in Sacramento after leaving Oakland last year while their new stadium in Las Vegas is being built, now have a record of 63-75 and sit last place in the AL West going into Monday’s action.

This wasn’t the first incident involving fans getting frisky in the stands that went viral this year.

In a video that has now racked up millions of views on social media site X, two baseball fans appear to engage in a sex act during a game at Yankee Stadium in late July.

While it’s unclear when the incident occurred, several fans appear to be wearing gear representing the Philadelphia Phillies, who had recently wrapped up a three-game series in New York at the time the clip was posted.

Two fans — a man wearing a Phillies jersey and hat, and a woman in tank top and jean shorts — appear to make their own fun in the clip which originally was posted by TikTok user @rays_gucci.

While there is no one in the rows directly in front or behind the couple, they are in clear sight of dozens of fellow spectators at the game.

In the clip, the man and woman keep their eyes forward while each has a hand in her lap while she begins to squirm in her seat in the upper deck.

“Nice to see Yankee stadium is still a great place to bring the family!” user @KutterIsKing posted on X along with the video.
