Kell Brook could be set for an unlikely return to the ring.

Brook was one of the biggest fighters in the UK for a number of years, and reached the pinnacle of the sport back in August 2014 when he defeated Shawn Porter to win the IBF welterweight title.

The Brit would make three defences of his belt before losing it to Errol Spence Jr in May 2017, whilst he also suffered defeats to Gennady Golovkin and Terence Crawford during his career.

Brook fought for the last time in February 2022 when he defeated long-time rival Amir Khan by sixth round stoppage at the Manchester Arena.

Since then the Sheffield fighter has been linked with a return on numerous occasions, but to date there hasn’t been anything that has convinced him to compete again.

It seems a concrete offer for Brook to fight has now been made, though it wouldn’t necessarily see him lacing up a pair of gloves.

Speaking to Boxing King Media, Brook’s former trainer Dominic Ingle revealed that the former welterweight world champion has been approached to compete in the controversial bare knuckle promotion.

“He’s been offered money to be in the bare-knuckle boxing. Frankie Gavin has done it, Liam Williams might be doing it, James DeGale [is doing it].”

As mentioned, a number of former boxing stars have recently made the transition to bare knuckle, with DeGale set to be the latest when he competes on an event taking place later this month.

Whether or not Brook follows in his footsteps and also transitions to bare knuckle remains to be seen.
