Passengers left an Air Canada plane by emergency slides after the flight, bound for Toronto, returned to Denver this weekend.

Air Canada flight 1038 was bound for Toronto Pearson Airport on Sunday when the crew reported a possible electrical fire, according to a Federal Aviation Administration statement provided to news outlets.

The Airbus A220 returned to Denver and landed safely at approximately 8:15 a.m.

Passengers were deplaned on the runway, the statement read.

A video shows the passengers exiting the plane on emergency slides.

Air Canada didn’t immediately respond to a request for further information but told CTV that the flight returned shortly after takeoff due to reports of an “acrid smell in a galley area.”

The 117 passengers and five crew members evacuated the aircraft using emergency slides as a precaution, the airline said.

One person suffered minor injuries during the evacuation, Air Canada told CTV.
