I really didn’t think we’d see Ryan Borucki this season. but I’m wrong. I used to tell my boys that I’d only ever made three mistakes but I think we have made it to double digits now.
Lefty Ryan Borucki was released by the Pirates on August 18th and signed by the Jays on August 25th. He had a 5.28 ERA with the Pirates. in 30.2 innings. He’s pitched in the majors for eight seasons (well parts of eight seasons) and has pitched in 183 games with a 4.36 ERA.
He’s always been much better vs LHB (.185/.268/.264) than RHB (.281/.348/.495).
Easton Lucas is on his way back to the Bisons. Lucas didn’t get into a game this time up with the Jays.
He had a 6.66 ERA in his 24.1 innings as a Blue Jay this season. I’m not sure that Borucki is an upgrade or not.
