Naoya Inoue Hosts Impressed Public Workout

The undisputed super bantamweight champion will face Uzbekistan’s Murodjon Akhmadaliev on Sunday, September 14.

“I’m sure you’re tired of hearing this all the time, but this is the best I’ve ever been,” said the Japanese star after his workout in Yokohama, Japan. In this session, “Monster” showcased his flawless preparation ahead of the bout.

Inoue has sparred with southpaws such as Nakano Mikio, Murata Subaru, Fujita Kenji, and Masuda Riku from the Teiken Gym, as well as former champion Marlon Tapales — the same fighter who defeated Akhmadaliev by unanimous decision.

“This time I chose training partners who were important to me. Each of them had something similar to Akhmadaliev, so I was able to respond to them properly and overcome them all, which was a key factor,” shared the champion.

As always, Naoya Inoue shows respect without underestimating his opponent: “When I was asked what Akhmadaliev and I had in common, I said overall strength. But I’m definitely not inferior in that aspect. What concerns me is his physical strength, although I won’t face a tough opponent head-on with brute force.”
