Ryan Wohl gives his picks for UFC Fight Night: Imavov vs. Borralho.
The UFC is back in Paris, France, for its annual stop in the country. Two of their greatest hometown stars, Nassourdine Imavov and Benoit Saint Denis, are featured in the final two fights. No. 2 Nassourdine Imavov battles No. 7 Caio Borralho in a Middleweight matchup with championship implications on the line. No. 15 Benoit Saint Denis takes on No. 13 Mauricio Ruffy in the co-main event.

Mauricio Ruffy ($8,800)
An MMA team that has taken the world by storm is the Fighting Nerds from Brazil. One of their top stars, Mauricio Ruffy, is back in action to take on arguably his toughest opponent to date in Saint Denis. Ruffy is 3-0 in the UFC with two first-round knockouts and is coming off a victory against King Green at UFC 313 in March.
Ruffy has totaled 102-plus points in two of his three fights in the promotion so far. His opponent, Saint Denis, recently got back in the win column with a submission over Kyle Prepolec at UFC 315 in May. In this matchup, both fighters stand 5’11”, but Ruffy has a two-inch reach advantage (75″ vs. 73″).
Saint Denis is dangerous on the ground and has the clear edge in that department, but Ruffy has all the tools to neutralize his takedown attacks. In the UFC, Ruffy hasn’t been taken down and needs to make this strictly a striking battle. If he does that, Ruffy should be able to put together another elite performance. That is because he is the more efficient striker (58% vs. 55%) while being a much better defensively (61% vs. 41%). Ruffy is the eighth-highest-priced fighter on this card, but has the potential to be a top-three scorer.
Nassourdine Imavov ($7,800)
Although this main event is a close one, getting the No. 2-ranked Middleweight Nassourdine Imavov at $7,800 is a steal. Although Imavov is three years younger than Caio Borralho, Imavov has a much better resume in the UFC. Imavov has recently beaten Roman Dolidze, Jared Cannonier, Brendan Allen, and Israel Adesanya.
Imavov has shown a killer instinct lately, knocking out two of his previous three opponents. Borralho is a talented fighter, holding a 17-1 record and is currently on a 17-fight unbeaten streak, with his last loss coming in 2015. But activity has been an issue for Borralho, as he hasn’t fought since August 2024.
Imavov has recorded at least 88 fantasy points in three of his last four bouts. Borralho has the edge in this fight on the ground, but with Imavov’s 78% takedown defense, that is unlikely to be an issue in this contest. Imavov averages 0.84 more significant strikes per minute (4.45 vs. 3.61). This is Imavov’s third fight in the last year, two more than Borralho. If Imavov is aggressive from the start of this fight, he will provide elite value to your fantasy lineup.
Patricio Freire ($7,300)
After a slow start in his UFC career, Patricio Pitbull bounced back with an 85 fantasy point performance against Dan Ige in July. Even though he is 38 years old, Pitbull showed he still has elite potential. He is only $7,300 this week against Losene Keita, which is very cheap considering his upside. Keita enters the UFC with a ton of hype surrounding him, as he is a former three-time Oktagon MMA Champion.
Since Keita is three inches taller, Pitbull will need to be the aggressor as he was against Ige to get the best of the UFC debutant. Keita is a talented prospect, but Pitbull has a massive edge in experience, as he has 28 more fights in his career.
Pitbull found success against Ige because he did an excellent job of using all facets of his game. In that fight, Pitbull landed five of nine takedown attempts while outlanding him in significant strikes. When Pitbull brings his best, he presents numerous challenges for opponents, as he is difficult to figure out.
