A trying couple of seasons for one of the top wide receivers in the CFL just took another bad turn.

Blue Bombers wideout Dalton Schoen will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, head coach Mike O’Shea told reporters Friday.

Schoen sustained the injury July 3 against the Calgary Stampeders and missed six games, but returned to try to play through it during Winnipeg’s 34-30 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday, O’Shea said.

The receiver managed to grab five receptions for 58 yards and one touchdown, but he limped off the field after the team’s two-point conversion with 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Schoen was an All-CFL wideout in his first two season in 2022 and 2023, going well over 1,000 yards receiving and grabbing at least 10 touchdowns in both years. He was named the CFL’s most outstanding rookie in 2022.

However, a torn ACL derailed his 2024 campaign, causing him to miss all but three games at the start of the season.

In and out of the lineup this year, the 28-year-old has 22 receptions for 255 yards and two touchdowns over his five games in 2025.
