A young girl has serious injuries after being hit by a car in northeast Calgary on Friday evening.
Emergency crews were called to Abbeydale Drive NE, just east of 68 Street NE, around 6:10 p.m. for reports of a collision.
Police say a 9-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle.
Images from the scene show a white car with a bike crushed underneath its front end.
The girl suffered a fractured pelvis and femur, according to police. She was rushed to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in serious but stable condition.
The driver involved remained at the scene.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
Roads were closed in the area, but they have since reopened.
