Brad Tavares came extremely close to adding his name to the UFC history books at UFC Paris.
This Saturday, the premier promotion returned to the French capital for another iteration of UFC Paris, headlined by middleweight contenders Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho.
As well as the blockbuster main event, there were several highly anticipated debuts on the card, one of which that was unfortunately canceled on Friday due to a weight miss.
And with it being a Fight Night event, the usual commentary team of Brendan Fitzgerald, Paul Felder and Michael Bisping returned to the commentary booth.

After back-to-back finishes in the first two fights, middleweights Brad Tavares and Robert Bryczek entered the Octagon for their clash.
The longtime middleweight contender, Tavares was hoping to score back-to-back wins for the first time since 2021, and there was even more attached to this fight.
With a win over the Polish fighter, the 37-year-old would see himself take over the aforementioned Bisping for the most wins ever in the middleweight division.
In the first round, the Hawaiian had to showcase his experience by staying in the fight after being wobbled by Bryczek, who nearly scored the stoppage.
After making it out of round one, Tavares managed to work his way back into the fight using his footwork and striking, chopping down the lead leg of Bryczek.
Bryczek undoubtedly won round one, the only question was whether it was dominant enough to score a 10-8, with the second round being relatively close.
Despite that, it didn’t matter as just a few moments into round three, the Polish fighter scored the TKO finish after landing a huge right hand and subsequent ground-and-pound.
Fans plead with Tavares to retire after loss
Tavares made his UFC debut back in 2011 and during his time in the promotion, he has suffered some brutal losses.
And with that, fans have pleaded with the 37-year-old to finally hang up his gloves following his loss in the French capital.
“Time for Brad Tavares to retire,” one fan said.
“Brad Tavares accepted his position and wasn’t displaying any intention of fighting back. Early stoppage but it’s Tavares’ fault,” another fan commented on the stoppage.
#UFCParis @THATBOYMMAGURU Nicksick’s entire camp sucks. Loss after loss. What a pathetic fight from Brad Tavares. Cut him from the roster immediately.
