Canelo Alvarez bought nearly $4million worth of watches in one shopping trip as he prepared for his upcoming fight with Terence Crawford.
The legendary boxing star will take on fellow undisputed champion Crawford on Netflix next week, with both men expected to pocket tens of millions. And Alvarez is already dipping into that purse to spend big on bling.
Alvarez’s reported earnings are as high as $75million for the fight, which is Netflix’s third effort in the boxing world. He is currently locked into a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season that guarantees him two more outings under their banner.

Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford both took part in a pre-fight documentary ahead of their September 13 meeting on Netflix. The cameras took in all of their training camps, including a shopping trip the undisputed super-middleweight champion took before heading to Guadalajara.

He can be seen looking at a number of models, including ones that cost hundreds of thousands to $1million. However, his eye is caught by one watch that is priced at $1.4million, which he opts to buy and take with him.
“I have $1.4million in my hand,” Alvarez marvelled while showing off the watch to friends. “I want this one too. Right? It’s very hard to not say ‘give me that one’.” He can then be seen boarding a private jet to his hometown in Mexico.
