The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s tennis team earned a decisive 7-0 win over McMaster to begin their 2025 season on Sunday (Sept. 7) afternoon at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus.

U of T made quick work of the visitors from Hamilton, winning all three doubles matches and all six singles matches. No. 1 doubles players Benjamin Whitley and Eric Ma led the way with an 8-1 win, before Whitley earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the No. 2 singles slot and Ma claimed a 6-2, 6-4 win in the No. 3 position. Blues veteran No. 1 singles player Rassam Yazdi secured a 6-1, 6-2 result in the highly competitive lead position.

The Blues remain at UTSC for another week, hosting the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday (Sept. 13) and Queen’s Gaels on Sunday (Sept. 14). First serve for both days is scheduled for 12 p.m.
