The partnership will enable MLB to distribute primary ticket inventory through StubHub and other authorized ticket marketplaces using StubHub’s direct issuance technology.

The tie-up is set to launch ahead of the 2026 MLB season.

The primary authorized ticket marketplace for MLB is SeatGeek, which also serves as the official fan-to-fan marketplace and integrates with the MLB Ballpark app.

Noah Garden, MLB deputy commissioner of business and media, said: “We are excited to use StubHub’s direct issuance technology to give fans new ways to access tickets to their favorite club’s games.

“This partnership underscores our commitment to providing the best possible fan experience by leveraging StubHub’s data, distribution, and technology to make it easier than ever to purchase our primary tickets.”

Shaun Stewart, StubHub’s vice president of direct issuance, added: “Major League Baseball has been a great long-term partner of ours, and we are excited to continue breaking new ground with our Direct Issuance technology partnership. StubHub’s data, distribution, and technology can help ensure fans can easily access the tickets they want.”
