Daylgo Abortions made headlines earlier this week when two of their members, Murray Acton and Matthew Fiorito, were arrested in Ashland County, Ohio on the 30th of August.
CTV News in Canada reported they spoke to Fiorito’s father the Monday after the duo’s Saturday arrest who hadn’t been in touch with his son yet, saying he hopes the tour can continue because “they were on a massive cross-country tour across the states, it was a big breakthrough for the band.” The cause for the arrest was unclear at the time.
That Saturday, the mother of Fiorito’s daughter, Wendy Forsythe, started a Facebook post that she updated from the moment they were arrested on August 30th, until September 5th, this past Friday. It started with:
“ATTN MUSICAL YANKS …
HELP!
KNOW ANY LAWYERS IN ASHLAND COUNTY, OHIO?
MURRAY AND MATT FROM THE DAYGLOS ARE BOTH IN JAIL WITH UNSPECIFIED REASONING. ARRESTED YESTERDAY.
BEING CANADIAN? IMPROPER PAPERWORK?
GEEZUS. STOP. GOING. TO. TRUMPLAND.
ITS. NOT. SAFE.
THIS IS WORRISOME.”
By Sunday (August 31st), she had posted the following update:
“EDIT. UPDATE. SUNDAY.
MURRAYS LAWYER IS ON IT.
MATTS DAD HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND WILL BE ORGANIZING COUNSEL FOR MATT.
NO FORMAL CHARGES HAVE BEEN LAID YET.
US LAW IS SEVERE IF WHATS BEEN SPECULATED IS THE CASE.
ARRAIGNMENT WILL BE TUESDAY(HOLIDAY WEEKEND)..
I WAS HOPING IT WAS IMMIGRATION ISSUES BUT IT APPEARS IT ISNT.
HOPING FOR THE BEST BUT…. STILL FUCKING WORRIED
“
Monday (September 1st), Forsythe updated the Facebook post with:

WHO IS THE DRUMMER FOR THIS TOUR LEG?
PLEASE THANKS.

THE LAWYER NEEDS HELP PIECING THIS TOGETHER AND WE NEED TO TRACK DOWN THEIR GUITARS AND OTHER GEAR.”
A second update followed on Monday (September 1st) in the evening when she added:
“EDIT. UPDATE. MONDAY NIGHT.
SO MATT HAS BEEN DRUMMING AFTER THE BROTHELS LEFT THE TOUR.
SHANE PHOBIA IS PLAYING DAYGLO BASS AND IS THE DRIVER.
THE VAN IS IMPOUNDED. IM ASSUMING WITH THE GEAR.
INFO WAS GIVEN THAT SHANE IS IN A HOTEL IN JAIL LAND WAITING TO SHOW UP FOR THE BOYS AT COURT TOMORROW. SOLID. THANK YOU DUDE.
I MESSAGED HIM AND AM WAITING TO HEAR BACK TO KNOW IF WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE BOOTS ON THE GROUND IN JAIL LAND.
OTHER THAN THAT THERES NO MORE ANSWERS UNTIL TOMORROW. THINK POSITIVE THOUGHTS FOR OUR BROS.

By Tuesday morning (September 2nd), Forsythe had a bit more information on Acton and Fiorito:

HAS BEEN WAITING FOR THE BOYS IN A HOTEL.
WALKED 5 MILES TO THE COURTHOUSE AND BACK TODAY ALREADY. NOTHING HAPPENING ON THAT FRONT YET.
HES GOING TO TRY TO GET THE VAN OUTTA IMPOUND TODAY.
HE HAS MATTS BASS, THE TOUR DOUGH, AND HIS OWN PERSONAL BAGS. THE REST OF THE GEAR IS IN THE VAN.
ITS A RELIEF TO KNOW THE BOYS HAVE BOOTS ON THE GROUND IN JAIL LAND.
LAWYER IS ACTIVE.
MATT CONNECTED WITH HIS DAD.

The afternoon on Tuesday (September 2nd) produced even more new information about the duo:
“EDIT. TUESDAY AFTERNOON.
MURRAY OFF INMATE LIST. HE WAS RELEASED.
I MESSAGED HIM TO TRY TO CONNECT HIM TO SHANE.
SHANE GOT HIM! (TYPING IN REAL TIME)
MATT HAS BAIL HEARING SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY AT 830AM ON ZOOM.”
Murray Acton was released with no charges filed in the Ashland County inmate database.
Sometime after this update had been posted, her and Fiorito’s daughter, Seleighne Forsythe, posted to her own personal Facebook, asking people if they would be willing to pool some money together with her in order to pay for her father’s bail. The post reads:
“Pals, I think I am gonna need to rally some bail money for my pops – I have no idea what it will be (which is scary) and… go fund me will take too long,
Hearing is now tomorrow bright and early for my dad. I wish I was someone of the means to be able to do it on my own but we need some help.
If you send anything my email is
I’m not going to accept anything until tomorrow when we know what it’s gonna cost etc
I appreciate you all 
Also please message me password, I can’t set up auto deposit*
At around midnight or one in the morning on Friday night into early Saturday morning (September 3rd), Seleighne posted again to her Facebook profile, saying that she was pausing donations for the moment:
“**WE HAVE HIT THE BAIL TARGET!!!** 
You’re all HEROES
I am eternally grateful to you all 
Overwhelmed with the generosity that our team has shown so far, the amount of appreciation I have is close to being able to tame my heart beat and the knots in my stomach.

On the morning of September 3rd, Seleighne’s mother, Wendy, updated the sequence of events she had been keeping track of in a post on her own personal Facebook, adding:

INFO FROM SELEIGHNE, I JUST WOKE UP.
LAWYER NO SHOW
WTF BUT MURRAY AND SHANE SENT THE DOCUMENTS TO HIM TO COORDINATE WITH THE DA.

MURRAY AND SHANE SAID THEY HAVE A PLAN.
SELEIGHNE STILL WORKING ON FUNDING. THANKS TO EVERYONE DONATING. GO FUND ME IN THE WORKS.

By Wednesday afternoon, Wendy added to the post twice more:

By this time, the cause for the arrest of both members became clear as Fiorito was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 or 2 drug, as originally reported by Lambgoat.

BACK AT THE HOTEL TO ORGANIZE AND CHILL.

After this update, there were three more additions to the post, with only one being a written message from Wendy with the others being links to a GoFundMe and a YouTube video.

To top off the experience, before Fiorito and Acton hit the road again after deciding to continue with their tour, Ashland County sheriff’s purchased about ten band shirts off of the duo. How lovely. Fiorito’s hearing has been postponed until after the tour finishes, but there are only a handful of dates left.
