Chicago is still fighting for the top spot in the NL Central despite having to compete with the Milwaukee Brewers, who have the best record in baseball.

An NL Wild Card berth is most likely for the Cubs. While they look to play the Braves, the team got a positive update on outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Cubs Pete Crow-Armstrong returns to lineup on Monday

Just a few hours before the first pitch, the Chicago Cubs announced that Pete Crow-Armstrong will return to the lineup after missing one game with a knee contusion. He will play as the designated hitter in the contest and bat cleanup.

Crow-Armstrong, 23, hit a foul ball off his knee in the team’s 2-1 loss to the Washington Nationals on Saturday. He was later replaced by Kevin Alcantara in the lineup.

Although outfielder Kyle Tucker is still out while he monitors a calf injury, Crow-Armstrong’s return to the lineup will hopefully help the team.

The 23-year-old phenom will look to improve from a struggling last month. In August, Crow-Armstrong finished with a .160 batting average and .216 on-base percentage while hitting just one home run.

However, in the season, his hitting statistics include a .254 batting average, .293 on-base percentage, .496 slugging percentage, .789 OPS, and 6.3 WAR while hitting 28 home runs and 85 RBI.
