We have a personnel move to announce within the large Montreal Canadiens organization.

Wyatt McLeod remains within the Montreal Canadiens’ organization chart

Here is an excerpt from the official press release.

“The Trois-Rivières Lions (affiliate club of the Montreal Canadiens) have reached an agreement with defenseman Wyatt McLeod.

The 6’3″ skater had joined the Lions at the start of training camp in October 2024 and quickly established himself as a pillar on defense.”

– Trois-Rivières Lions

McLeod, 25 years old, is a left-shot defenseman standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 202 pounds, so he’s a big, physical guy, and he collected 23 points in 65 games last season with Ron Choules’ squad.

He also logged 41 penalty minutes while maintaining a positive plus-minus of +8.

McLeod is a former member of the Colorado Avalanche organization, he’s a cornerstone for the Lions, and he could certainly climb the ranks of the Montreal Canadiens organization soon.

We are really looking forward to seeing him at camp!

The picture is really starting to take shape, especially on defense, within the Canadiens’ organization, and there even seems to be a possible opening eventually with the Laval Rocket, precisely for a young player like Wyatt McLeod.

He’s a young player to keep an eye on.
