NFL Power Rankings: Where do Broncos land heading into Week 2 after surviving Titans? originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Denver Broncos were far from impressive in defeating the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, but style points count for nothing in the official win-loss column. Officially, the Broncos are 1-0 and that’s all you can ask for.

Bo Nix threw two interceptions and lost a fumble and the team had four turnovers. But they held Tennessee out of the end zone and still won by eight points despite a sloppy performance. While many will laugh at those who labeled the Broncos a dark horse Super Bowl contender, others are going to look at the glass as half full.
When putting together his latest power rankings, Vinnie Iyer of The Sporting News took all of that into consideration and very fairly put the Broncos at No. 11, the same place they were before the season started.
“The Broncos didn’t expect Bo Nix to open up in a sloppy sophomore slump, but the good news is they found a missing groove in the running game and also played shutdown defense. They need to clean up some things before facing a tougher opponent”, wrote Iyer.

That is all true, but Iyer didn’t sell the Broncos short like so many others have. In Week 2, the Broncos will take on a surging Colts team that moved up 11 spots in the rankings, the biggest jump of any team. A victory there would likely give the Broncos back much of the respect they had before the season started and move them into next week’s top 10.
