TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Men’s Tennis is set to begin its fall slate this weekend at the Battle in the Bay and the annual Wildcat Invite.
Wildcats Zoran Ludoski and Alexander Rozin will travel to San Francisco, Calif., for the prestigious Battle in the Bay, hosted at the California Tennis Club. The duo will compete in both singles and doubles, teaming up in the doubles draw. They will open play on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. MST in doubles against Stian Klaassen and Adrien Berrut (USD), before beginning singles action. Rozin is scheduled for a 10:45 a.m. MST match against Niels Villard (ASU), followed by Ludoski at 1:30 p.m. MST against Avery Tallakson (Boise State).
Ludoski, ranked No. 63 nationally, posted a 13-14 singles record and an 8-8 doubles mark last season. Rozin, currently ranked No. 89 in the country, led the Wildcats in singles wins with a 31-6 record, while also finishing 9-7 in doubles play.
The Battle in the Bay is one of the premier tournaments of the fall season, with the champion earning a wildcard into either the $100k Tiburon Men’s ATP Challenger or the $80k Fairfield Men’s ATP Challenger. Streaming and live stats will be announced later this week.
Back in Tucson, Arizona will welcome UNLV, NAU, NMSU, UNM and SDSU to the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center for the Wildcat Invite. Representing the Wildcats will be Cole Stelse and Oskar Jansson, competing in both singles and doubles.
Stelse enters the fall coming off a 13-2 singles record and a 7-5 doubles mark in 2023-24. Jansson posted an 8-3 singles record last season, along with a 6-4 doubles record.
The Wildcat Invite will run Friday, Sept. 13, through Sunday, Sept. 15. Matches begin at 8:30 a.m. MST on Friday, and admission is free for all fans. Matches will be streamed via PlaySight and live stats will be available on StatBroadcast.
