CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The University of Houston Tennis team opens fall action at the Jake Frederick Memorial Islander Open from Friday to Sunday from the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
Action begins on Friday with doubles starting at 9 a.m. followed by singles play at 10 a.m.
TEAMS COMPETING
Houston will square off with opponents from UTSA, UIW, Lamar, Texas A&M Kingsville, Lubbock Christina and host school, Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

ABOUT THE COUGARS
Houston welcomes two new additions as junior Petra Drame comes over from FIU and senior Chems Doha Zeghlouli arrives from South Alabama. Drame is a two time Conference USA Champion and prior to her time at FIU, she was a four-time member of the Slovenian National Team.
In addition to the transfers, the Cougars return five student-atheletes including seniors Gabriela Cortes and Sophie Schouten and juniors Elizaveta Morozova, Iva Sepa and Valeriia Krokhotina.
