Kevin Gausman pitched a two-hitter for his fourth career complete game, Davis Schneider homered and drove in two and the Blue Jays beat the struggling Astros. AL East-leading Toronto improved to 47-25 at home and 63-4 when scoring five or more.

The Toronto Blue Jays made a pair of roster moves following their 6-0 victory over the Houston Astros on Thursday.

The team reinstated pitcher Alek Manoah and optioned him to Triple-A Buffalo, and designated infielder Orelvis Martinez for assignment.

Martinez, 23, was ranked among the top 100 prospects across major league baseball per MLB Pipeline in 2021, ‘22 and ‘24.

The infielder was called up to the major league club in 2024, where he went 1-for-3 before he was suspended 80 games for a failed drug test.

Since returning to the minors, Martinez has struggled mightily at the plate and in the field – he hit .176 in 99 games with the Buffalo Bisons this season.

Manoah was officially reinstated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A. The towering righty last pitched in the majors in June of 2024, and his reinstatement marks the conclusion of an extended recovery from elbow surgery last summer.

In 75 career MLB games, Manoah has a 3.34 earned-run average with 412 strikeouts in 420 innings pitched. The 27-year-old finished third in American League Cy Young voting in 2022.
