National Coaches Week (NCW) celebrates the positive impact coaches have on athletes, participants, and communities across Canada. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by saying #ThanksCoach.

With in-person and virtual activities held across the country to celebrate coaching, National Coaches Week provides coaches with the recognition they deserve for the time they devote to ensuring Canadians live an active, healthy lifestyle.

Supporting National Coaches Week can be as simple as sharing a social media post about a coach you’d like to thank:

 Online

*Post a thank-you message, reel, or story featuring your coach or a moment that meant a lot. (Use this list of questions to help get you started!)

*Create a short video finishing the sentence: “Thanks coach for…”

*Tag your coach in a social story with a #ThanksCoach sticker.

*Post your favourite quote or lesson from your coach using #ThanksCoach.

In-Person

*Write a handwritten thank-you card and give it to your coach after practice.

*Make a small gift (e.g., a drawing, photo collage, or craft) and present it during the week.

*Organize a team cheer, banner, or tunnel at practice or game day.

*Host a short team huddle before practice to thank your coach together.

*Bake or bring in a treat to share with the team in your coach’s honour.
