Apple unveiled its latest generation of products earlier this week, including its newest lineup of iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods. In addition to the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro, the tech giant announced its thinnest and lightest smartphone yet, the iPhone Air. If you can’t wait to get your hands on one, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about how to preorder the iPhone Air.

The Air, which is available to preorder as of 8 a.m. ET today and will be officially released on September 19, features enhanced AI and camera capabilities, the best display on an iPhone to date, and all-day battery life, all with a width of less than a quarter-inch. The phone starts at $999 at Apple, but there are already opportunities to score a deal at the likes of T-Mobile and AT&T. We’ve got all the details below, including where to preorder, trade-in values, and more.

How to preorder the iPhone Air

While the phone starts at $999 at Apple, you can save some cash by trading in your eligible current phone for a credit toward your new phone purchase.

iPhone Air preorder deals

One standout deal for the iPhone Air is at T-Mobile, where shoppers can get an iPhone Air for free by upgrading to the Experience Beyond unlimited data plan or trading in an eligible device. Upgrading to or trading in a device on T-Mobile’s Experience More plan can also save you up to $830 on the Air, which is still a hefty discount. The carrier is also offering up to $900 off the Air for customers over 55 years old, military members, and first responders who confirm their eligibility.

Other carriers like Verizon and AT&T are offering similar deals. While you can’t get an iPhone Air for free at AT&T, you can score up to $830 off by trading in your current device and signing up for an eligible unlimited plan. Plus, ordering any eligible iPhone, including the Air, through AT&T before October 16 can save you $50 on a new pair of Beats Powerbeats Pro 2. All you have to do is order the iPhone and Beats in the same purchase.

What’s the trade-in value of my current phone at Apple?

Trading in your current phone can save you hundreds on a new one. Even if you haven’t upgraded your phone in years and have an older model, like the iPhone 11, you can still score 10% off the iPhone Air with a trade-in. Apple is offering the following trade-in value estimates for previous iPhone generations, which are subject to change based on your phone’s condition.
