Deion Sanders has helped Colorado produce NFL talent like Travis Hunter, who was picked No. 2 overall and Jimmy Horn Jr, who went in the sixth round. Now, another receiver from Colorado is trying to make it to the NFL, but his road hasn’t been easy.
That player is none other than Will Sheppard.

Sheppard was an undrafted free agent but signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shortly after the NFL Draft concluded. Not long after, he was cut because he didn’t pass a physical on May 9.
There’s been no details yet of why Sheppard didn’t pass a physical. But there’s good news.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Sheppard will get another shot — this time with the Green Bay Packers. People expect he’ll pass his physical this time and join a team with a strong group of receivers.
The Packers have solid depth at wide receiver with Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Bo Melton in the mix. Christian Watson was expected to be a key piece on the outside, but he’ll miss the season after tearing his ACL. That opens the door for someone to step in, though the battle for reps is still going to be competitive.

Sheppard’s a long shot to make the roster, no doubt about it — but camp and preseason will give him a legit chance to turn some heads.
He wrapped up his final year at Colorado with 48 grabs for 621 yards and six scores. Nothing flashy, no 100-yard games, but he was steady all season — the kind of guy who just kept showing up.
Now with the Packers, Sheppard has a fresh chance. It won’t be easy, but if he stays healthy and plays well, he might just get his shot in the NFL.
