Visma-Lease a Bike won its second grand tour of 2025 after Jonas Vingegaard secured the red jersey Saturday atop the Bola del Mundo.

Sunday’s final stage and podium ceremony were canceled after thousands of protesters poured onto the Madrid finishing circuit to show solidarity with Palestine during the ongoing war in Gaza.

Protests marked the Vuelta since it hit Spanish roads in stage 5, and despite the cancellation of Sunday’s final stage, the results will stand.

With victory, Vingegaard adds his third grand tour title to his two Tour de France victories in 2022 and 2023.

Visma closes out another banner grand tour racing season, winning the Giro d’Italia with Simon Yates and finishing second at the Tour with Vingegaard.

UAE Emirates-XRG won seven stages, the best team prize, and finished second with João Almeida, to go along with second in the Giro with Isaac del Toro and victory at the Tour with Tadej Pogačar.

Q36.5’s Tom Pidcock surprised many to hit third for his first grand tour podiium and fended off attacks from Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe’s Jai Hindley.

American’s rode well, with Visma’s Sepp Kuss finishing seventh in his second-best grand tour ride after his 2023 Vuelta win, while Matteo Jorgenson rode to 10th in his second career top 10.

Matthew Riccitello was the breakout rider of this Vuelta, climbing to fifth overall and the best young rider’s jersey.

Mads Pedersen won the green points jersey and Jay Vine won two stages and the King of the Mountains jersey.
