Welcome to “This Week in MMAmania.com,” Maniacs!
As you know, MMAmania.com churns out a ridiculous amount of stories weekly. And if you don’t refresh this site constantly, you might just miss an amazing story. Or, if you don’t go read the comments section on each story, you might miss a wisecrack that will leave you LOL’ing.
But, don’t trip — we’ve got you covered. This weekly article will recap the best of MMAmania.com, reviewing the most-read stories, comments, social media posts, etc.
So, sit back and take a gander at the madness of the week that was …
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – MARCH 08: (L-R) Alex Pereira of Brazil touches gloves with Magomed Ankalaev of Russia in the UFC light heavyweight championship fight during the UFC 313 event at T-Mobile Arena on March 08, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC)
Last week, the story that got the most eyeballs was Alex Pereira revealing that there will not be a trilogy if he were to defeat Magomed Ankalaev (yay).
MMAmania.com ‘Comment(s) of the Week’
Kelvin Gastelum missed the weight for the 500th time this past week, and our readers let him have it.
Grammy Award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar beat Canelo.
Fighter ‘Comment of the Week’ — He said what?!?!?!
UFC CEO Dana White said Crawford vs. Canelo would “move fast.”
Well, it did not, and felt like every other boxing event — especially because the entire main card had no finishes or even a knockdown.
MMAMania user cavemanoncomputer posted his Noche UFC 3 main card thoughts, and it was well thought out.
A perfect MMA nutshot moment was captured at Noche UFC 3.

Random ‘Stat of the Week’
Since entering the promotion, Diego Lopes has only competed on two Fight Nights, opposed to six pay-per-views (PPV).
Fight Announcement of the Week:
Maycee Barber returns to action after her disastrous night back in May and fights Karine Silva.
This Past Week in MMA History:
Darren Till’s UFC downfall started when he got strangled by Tyron Woodley for the Welterweight title.
On the same card, Jessica Andrade nuked Karolina Kowalkiewicz in the co-main event.
Additionally, on the same card, two Suloev Stretch submission wins occurred in separate fights.
In Stipe Miocic’s first title defense, he brutally knocked out Alistair Overeem.
On the same card, CM Punk made his UFC debut and got wrecked in under three minutes.
It has been three years since the absolute madness that was UFC 279 fight week, where three PPV fights got shifted around because Khamzat Chimaev missed weight for his fight with Nate Diaz — and in the end, Diaz ended up tapping Tony Ferguson in a fun but sloppy fight.
Chimaev also blew through Kevin Holland.
See you guys next week! And be sure to peep those comments sections. Who knows, you might just be highlighted among the “Best of the Best” around these parts.
