49ers turn to Mac Jones, Caleb Williams remains under fire

USA TODAY Sports’ Joe Rivera and Chris Bumbaca break down some of the most notable overreactions from Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season.

Sports Seriously

Undefeated, meet defeated. Defeated, meet undefeated.

The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins don’t need an introduction, but these AFC East rivals are trending in opposite directions as they open Week 3 of the 2025 NFL regular season.

Buffalo has gotten out to a quick start in the young campaign, pulling off an improbable comeback in Week 1 to defeat the Baltimore Ravens and then thrashed the New York Jets in a Week 2 beatdown. The regular season hasn’t been an issue for Josh Allen’s bunch, but they are clearly on a mission in 2025.

They’ll try to keep it rolling against a reeling Dolphins team that is sinking rapidly.

Mike McDaniel’s seat is scorching and it’s not even because of the Florida sun. Tua Tagovailoa has struggled and Tyreek Hill’s frustration is on full display.

Buffalo is already in control of the AFC East, but Miami’s playoff hopes – however little they may be at this point – are on life support heading into Thursday night. With a blowout loss, big changes could be imminent in South Beach.

It’s an AFC East clash in Buffalo to open the Week 3 slate. Can the Dolphins drown the Bills or will Buffalo make Miami look like a fish out of water in western New York? We’ll have that answer soon enough.
