Racing Bulls Formula One driver Isack Hadjar has opened up about reports of his potential Red Bull promotion, hinting that the speculation could materialize next year.
The 2025 season marks Hadjar’s F1 debut in Red Bull’s junior F1 team, and the 20-year-old driver has already impressed his squad with his performances thus far. He secured his first podium at the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, followed by a P10 points finish at Monza.
He is currently placed ninth in the Drivers’ Standings with 38 points, which is 26 points more than Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda’s tally of 12 points. With Tsunoda’s current contract expiring after the 2025 season, Hadjar seems well placed to occupy the seat alongside Verstappen in 2026.
A report by Planet F1 states that Red Bull senior advisor Helmut Marko has already informed Hadjar that he will be promoted next year, although an agreement has not been signed yet. Speaking to Canal+, Hadjar opened up about a potential promotion to Red Bull. He said:

“It scares me, but it’s also incredibly exciting!
“Seeing myself team up with Max? Of course! And what a line-up!
“Of course, it’s early in my career, but I may have this opportunity.
“You give me the same car as the best driver in the world, and he’s right next to me. I have the opportunity to compare myself to him, and I have the same chances as him.”
Asked if the reports are just spoilers, Hadjar surprisingly revealed that it is “written” already. He said:
“You’re not really spoiling, it’s the trajectory. It’s written.”
Ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the Racing Bulls driver was asked if he knew about his future. He said with a smile:
“I have an idea, but…”
Quizzed if the speculation about his promotion was being followed by him, he said:
“I don’t care. I really don’t care. I had, like, five days off at home and other things to do than scrolling on Instagram.”
While Hadjar is confident in his racing performance, he has been focusing on something else that he needs to improve at Racing Bulls. He added:
“I think from an engineering point of view, maybe.
“It’s such a technical world, I would say, as a rookie, it’s where I’m learning the most.
“Not really driving the car, I know how to do that.”
