NFL Week 3 kicks off Thursday with the Buffalo Bills hosting the Miami Dolphins, and Miami will reportedly have a key piece who spent the past couple days as an injury doubt.
Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is expected to play, according to NFL Network, despite battling a lingering shoulder injury. He was listed as questionable to play by the team.

The Dolphins are staring at an 0-3 start, having lost their first two games and now having to face AFC East power Buffalo on the road. The Dolphins’ team culture has reportedly been improved over this past offseason, but soon the reality of the results may catch up with the current franchise leadership.
Elsewhere, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels sat out practice with a sprained knee for the second straight day. There’s a general sense among beat reporters that the Commanders are intentionally bringing Daniels along slowly with the injury and that he’ll play on Sunday at home vs. the Las Vegas Raiders, but head coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday there wouldn’t be another update on his status until Friday.
As for the San Francisco 49ers and their own QB injury troubles, Brock Purdy practiced for the second straight day on Thursday, though the extent of which remains to be seen. Purdy is battling a toe injury and could miss his second straight game Sunday, which is at home against the 2-0 division rival Arizona Cardinals.

Mac Jones played well in Purdy’s stead this past weekend though, helping the 49ers to a 2-0 start of their own. So even if Purdy can’t play, head coach Kyle Shanahan and company likely still feel good about their chances.
