LeBron James has accomplished it all in his career, and has stood the test of time, fighting his way through all the excessive pressures, scrutiny and criticism in his 23 years in the NBA. He is undoubtedly the perfect role model and ambassador of the game.

James is also known family man, be it as a loving son, husband, or father. He married his high-school sweetheart, Savannah James, in 2013. Together, they have three children: two sons, Bronny and Bryce, and a daughter, Zhuri.

After making history with Bronny as the first father-son duo to play in the NBA, LeBron now plans to achieve the same with his younger son, Bryce. Interestingly, numerous discussions have concerned King James and his retirement timeline in recent years.

Some have even predicted that the 2025-26 season will be the final, which sounds highly unlikely. According to an NBA executive, LeBron intends to wait it out until his secondborn son. This is not a worry, given that LBJ continues to put up MVP numbers despite being 40 years old.

“I think LeBron plays one or two more seasons unless the Lakers win it all next year. Bryce will be eligible for the 2026 draft. There are some whispers that LeBron wants to play with him, too. We’ll see what happens, but I just can’t see LeBron retiring after next season. He’s still too good of a player to just walk away. Unless there’s a huge drop-off in his production or the Lakers win the championship, I think LeBron is playing in 2026-27,” revealed the executive.

This could be a milestone moment for the James family, especially with Bronny already a part of the Lakers organization and its G League affiliate.

Draft profile so far

Like his older brother, Bryce graduated from Sierra Canyon High School, where he won the CIF State Division 1 championship in 2025. As a senior, he averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds. He then committed to the University of Arizona.

“For me personally, I probably say the environment because I know the fans, they really enjoy coming to the Arizona games. I know they like to get rowdy, get loud, So for me personally, I just want a real college experience and for me, I think Arizona was definitely one of those colleges,” said Bryce about his decision to play for the Wildcats.

He has immense faith in AU coach Tommy Lloyd, who is renowned for his player development skills and approaches things patiently, without wanting immediate results.

Standing close to 6’6″, Bryce primarily plays the shooting guard position. According to reports, the 18-year-old possesses impressive shooting skills, game sense and a strong frame. Although he still needs to work on several aspects of his game like ball handling and defense.

During a media interaction, Bryce discussed some of the conversations he had with his father before starting college. Apart from telling him to work hard and give it his all, Bron told him to maintain the right mindset and avoid getting bogged down by negativity.

“Also, just like making sure that even if you’re not having, you know, some good days, you know, just always have the ‘stay positive’ mentality. So, you know, like maybe you miss a shot, you get a turnover, something, don’t hang your head down. Always keep your head up, just push through, just stay positive,” shared younger James.

Eyeing the 2026 draft, fans must wait and watch how things shape up for Bryce at Arizona. With LeBron still playing at an MVP level, fans wish to see him alongside his younger son as well. As no doubt, sharing the court with both sons would be a picture-perfect moment for the James family.
