Tim Robinson plays a Midwestern man investigating a criminal conspiracy in his new HBO comedy series “The Chair Company,” which premieres Oct. 12.
The season will consist of eight episodes releasing weekly on Sundays, leading up to the season finale on Nov. 30. Co-created by Robinson and his “I Think You Should Leave” collaborator Zach Kanin, the comedy series centers on a man whose obsession with a chair company leads him to dark places and suspicious people.
Robinson leads the comedy as William Ronald Trosper and is joined by series regulars Lake Bell as Barb Trosper, Sophia Lillis as Natalie Trosper, Will Price as Seth Trosper and Joseph Tudisco as Mike Santini. Lou Diamond Phillips recurs as Jeff Levjman.
“The Chair Company” is executive produced by Robinson and Kanin alongside Adam McKay and Todd Schulman for HyperObject Industries, Andrew DeYoung and Igor Srubshchik. Andrew DeYoung and Aaron Schimberg serve as directors on the series.
Robinson and Kanin are frequent collaborators who began working together while on the writing staff of “Saturday Night Live.” From there, they co-created the popular Comedy Central series “Detroiters” with Sam Richardson and Joe Kelly, in which Robinson and Richardson also starred. Robinson and Kanin went on to create the Netflix comedy series “I Think You Should Leave,” where Robinson also served as the series lead.
Robinson’s acting credits include “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” “Friendship,” “Documentary Now,” and the Seth Rogen film “An American Pickle.” Additionally, Robinson has lent his voice to the animations “Digman!,” “Big City Greens,” “Invincible,” “Teenage Euthanasia” and more.
