Mohamed Sanu hasn’t played in the NFL since 2021, but on Friday, he officially closed the door on a return.

The 36-year-old wide receiver announced his retirement from football.

A native of New Brunswick, NJ, Sanu also announced the launch of a new podcast.

Originally selected with the 83rd overall selection of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Rutgers, Sanu appeared in 136 games across 10 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers.

He was a member of the Falcons team that infamously blew a 28-3 lead in a 34-28 overtime loss to the Patriots in Super Bowl LI.

His best season statistically came in 2018 as a member of the Falcons where he hauled in 66 receptions for 838 yards and four touchdowns.

For his career, Sanu recorded 435 catches for 4,871 yards and 27 touchdowns.
