Hi Subscribers,
As we begin to near the end of the season, the eyes of the cycling world turn to Rwanda for the start of the 2025 UCI Road World Championships. Many of the world’s best riders have travelled to Kigali to represent their countries, with the first rainbow jerseys up for grabs in the individual time trials on Sunday.
Starting with the elite women’s time trial, Grace Brown will not be back to defend her title, as the reigning Olympic and World Champion retired from professional cycling at the end of last season, leaving the door open for a new rider to take the rainbow bands in the race against the clock.
As the only former winners on the startlist, Chloé Dygert and Anna van der Breggen are among the favourites coming into the event, with stiff competition expected from the likes of Demi Vollering and Marlen Reusser, who have both finished runner-up in previous years.
