LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men’s soccer team earned a 3-1 win over Wisconsin on Friday evening at Wallis Annenberg Stadium. Three different Bruins scored in the win.
The Bruins (2-3-2, 2-0-0 Big Ten) outshot Wisconsin (2-4-0, 0-2-0 Big Ten) 7-4, and limited the Badgers to just two shots on target throughout the night.
UCLA’s win almost marked Ryan Jorden‘s 50th career win in charge of the Bruins. Now in his seventh year in charge of the program, Jorden has led the Bruins to a Pac-12 title in 2023, and four-straight NCAA Tournaments (2021-2024).
Sergi Solans Ormo scored in his third consecutive game and added two more assists on the night, totaling four points in the win.
The game started frantically, as Wisconsin took a 1-0 lead in the opening minutes as Cristobal Porter pushed the Badgers in front in the fifth minute.
UCLA instantly responded, through Konstantinos Georgallides, who was making his first start as a Bruin on Friday night. The graduate transfer from Cyprus responded for the Bruins three minutes later in the eighth minute, latching on to a through ball by Philip Naef, who received a pass in space from Solans Ormo, and slotted his shot past the keeper, tying the match at 1-1.

Despite the fast-paced start neither team was able to score in the remaining 35 minutes of action in the first half and the two sides went into the halftime break tied at 1-1.
As for the second half, the Bruins controlled the game throughout, and their possession paid off in the 60th minute.
After dishing out an assist on UCLA’s first goal, Solans Ormo put the Bruins in front with his third goal in three games. The Spaniard was played in on goal by Francis Bonsu, who came on early in the second half and provided a spark off the bench.
Bonsu picked up the ball near midfield, and instantly sent it forward for Solans Ormo to chase down. Solans Ormo did so and then rounded the onrushing keeper to put UCLA up 2-1 with 30 minutes to play.

UCLA was not done there, as seven minutes later, Bonsu tallied his first collegiate goal. Midfielder Sean Sent picked up the ball just outside the 18-yard box, and played a ball into the box for Solans Ormo, who touched it along to Bonsu who hit a shot underneath the onrushing keeper, giving UCLA a 3-1 advantage.
