The battle of the championship continues on, as the best of Formula 1 hits the streets of Baku on Sunday for the annual Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

We are two weeks removed from a controversial event in Italy, as the battle between McLaren Racing teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took center stage. Piastri, who currently leads the battle for the drivers’ championship, ended up finishing third behind Norris (who lost out to four-time defending world champion Max Verstappen) in a race that saw the team give orders for drivers to flip places. Many wonder who this will affect the fight for the title in the final weeks of the 2025 season.

Heading into Sunday, Pisatri leads Norrise by 31 points, a margin he can maintain if he continues to pick up podiums. Piastri has finished in the top three in all but one of the first 16 races of the season, leading the series with seven victories so far.

The Australian driver is also the defending winner of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Verstappen and Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton are the only other active drivers to have won the event.
