Superloop may have been slightly later to the NBN 2000 party than other providers who launched these plans at the start of last week, but it has come out swinging with a strong deal. Superloop is charging just $145 per month for its NBN 2000 plan for the first six months, followed by $165 per month thereafter.Â
Here are Superloop’s NBN 2000 plans:
NBN 2000 is only available to customers on FTTP and HFC tech types. While both will get download speeds of up to 2Gbps, customers on HFC will get upload speeds of up to 100Mbps and customers on FTTP can get an even faster 200Mbps.
When you exclude promotional discounts, Southern Phone has the cheapest NBN 2000 plan on offer at $149 per month. Otherwise, around $165 per month is fairly standard pricing for a non-discounted NBN 2000 plan right now.Â

To take advantage of NBN 2000 plans, a WiFi 7 router with a 2Gbps WAN port or faster is necessary. For the fastest wireless possible speeds, a tri-band WiFi 7 router like an eero Pro 7 is ideal.
It’s worth noting that individual devices may not be able to achieve 2Gbps speeds themselves. This may be possible on WiFi 6 and WiFi 7 devices, depending on their proximity to the route. Conversely, devices connected to your router via ethernet will be limited by the speed of the port. Both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X only have a 1Gbps ethernet port, for example.
NBN 2000 customers may also need a new NTD. The latest HFC NTD – the Arris CM3500 – supports 2Gbps speeds, but customers on the older Arris CM8200 will need an upgrade. FTTP customers will also need a new NTD.
If you order an NBN 2000 plan, your chosen NBN provider should book an appointment on your behalf, where a technician will swap out your NTD for a newer model. This is done free of charge, unless you want a specific model (such as the four-port FTTP NTD), in which case there may be a charge of up to $300.
