A youth has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault after several people were assaulted along a Mississauga trail over the spring and summer months this year.
On Monday, Peel police said the alleged assaults happened between May and August along the Lake Wabukayne Trail, specifically near the tunnel bridge by Glen Erin Drive, north of Windwood Drive.
Police said in each reported incident, the youth was unknown to the victims and is alleged to have “approached them unexpectedly and grabbed them without provocation.”
None of the victims needed medical attention.
On Sept. 22, a youth from Mississauga, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with five counts of sexual assault.
Police said he was released with conditions to attend court at a later date.
Investigators have been in the trail area actively investigating and believe there may be additional victims and witnesses.
