TULSA, Okla. – DePaul men’s tennis pairing of Alejandro Gandini and Thomas Giles punched their ticket to the round of 16 at the ITA All-American Championships with a gritty doubles win on Monday afternoon.
Competing at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa, the Blue Demon tandem edged Georgia Tech’s Christophe Clement and Gianluca Carlini in a thrilling tiebreak, 7-6 (7), 4-6, [14-12].
With the victory, Gandini and Giles advance to Tuesday’s action, where they will meet No. 2 seeds Trevor Svajda and Georgi Georgiev.
