Dillon Danis will compete in MMA for the first time since 2019… under the Misfits Boxing banner.

Danis (2-0) is set to face Warren Spencer in a bout contested at 170 pounds, and advertised as the first-ever Misfits MMA fight, at Misfits Boxing 22 on August 30, 2025 in Manchester, England.

That gives Danis plenty of time to drop out of the fight, which Spencer will be making his professional MMA debut in.

Danis, better known as Conor McGregor’s jiu-jitsu coach (when McGregor was active, anyway) and for any number of controversies outside the cage, fought twice for Bellator MMA, first in 2018 and again in 2019, winning bout bouts via submission.

A black belt in BJJ who won the Pan Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship in 2016, Danis then booked a third fight in 2020, only for it to fall through.

Since then, he’s been better known as a celebrity boxer, or frankly, a public nuisance. Danis was sued by Logan Paul in conjunction with their 2023 boxing bout, which ended in a DQ loss for the grappler. The lawsuit stemmed from allegations that Danis shared intimate images of Paul’s girlfriend, Nina Agdal, online in the build-up to the fight.

Other proposed boxing bouts keep seeming to fall through for the now 31-year old.

Danis was also involved in the Khabib Nurmagomedov-led brawl at UFC 229 in 2019. The incident, which saw the Dagestani star scale the fence and launch himself at Danis, resulted in $7500 fine and seven-month suspension being administered by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The grappler has spent most of the last several years trolling fans and fighters on social media, and lifting video footage from other accounts to feign being in attendance at major events.

Danis was briefly linked to a fight with Tony Ferguson under the ill-fated GFL banner. At least that one was out of his control.

Misfits Boxing 22 sees Darren Till face Luke Rockhold in a battle of former UFC stars, while Tony Ferguson takes on Salt Papi. Both of those fights will be traditional boxing matches.
