We witnessed a heartwarming scene in the final minutes live from Brossard, involving Martin St-Louis and young Ivan Demidov.

After a few tougher sequences, as reported by TVA Sports journalist Anthony Martineau, Demidov got frustrated.

What happened next says a lot about the great atmosphere in Montreal right now.

Martin St-Louis and Kirby Dach make a big gesture, immediately going to comfort Ivan Demidov

See the footage, as reported by Martineau:

Indeed, I love seeing this!

It’s very rare to see something like this during practice, but this was a big gesture by St-Louis toward his young player!

You can clearly see it. Demidov seems to have genuinely appreciated the gesture, and it immediately lifted his spirits.

It’s the kind of small gesture that can seriously help a young player like Demidov feel at home with the Montreal Canadiens.

Special mention also to Kirby Dach, who also went to check on him.

Speaking of Dach, let’s remember that he resumed his role at center for Patrik Laine and Ivan Demidov today during practice, while Oliver Kapanen returned to a depth line.

Ivan Demidov, 19, is a 6-foot-1, 192-pound forward drafted 5th overall in 2024 by the Montreal Canadiens.

He recorded 49 points in 65 KHL games last season, as well as 2 points in 2 NHL games (in addition to 2 points in 5 playoff games).
