A lot has changed in the digital world since the 2010 hit film The Social Network was released, and a sequel is reportedly being shot in Vancouver later this year.

Daily Hive discovered a listing for a feature film on the CreativeBC website’s “in production” page, as well as the film and TV production list on the UBCP/ACTRA site for a project titled Goliath. The director attached to the project is listed as Aaron Sorkin.

On IMDb, Sorkin has two upcoming projects, but only one as a director: The Social Network Part II.

Sorkin wrote the screenplay for The Social Network, which was directed by David Fincher. The movie was based on a book by Ben Mezrich called The Accidental Billionaires.

The original movie was critically acclaimed, being nominated for several Academy Awards and winning many of them, including the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture.

IMDb currently lists the film as being in pre-production. The casting for Mark Zuckerberg reveals that a key actor in the original flick won’t be returning for the sequel.

Jesse Eisenberg gained mainstream recognition for his portrayal of Zuckerberg in the original film. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the Facebook mastermind.

If IMDb is any indication, Eisenberg will not be playing Zuckerberg in the sequel.

His successor? Jeremy Strong.

In recent years, Strong became a household name due to his portrayal of Kendall Roy in the highly acclaimed series Succession. He also had a significant role in the 2024 flick The Apprentice. Variety reported on Strong as Eisenberg’s replacement earlier this year.

The only other actors currently listed as part of the sequel are Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison.

CreativeBC has listed the production dates for the project as taking place between Oct. 25 and Dec. 10, 2025.

How do you feel about Strong as Zuckerberg?
