The prestigious 71st National Film Awards ceremony was held yesterday at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. It was more than special for the Hindi film industry as two of the biggest celebs, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji, bagged their first Best Actor and Best Actress trophies after spending so many years for their movies Jawan and Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, respectively. SRK shared the Best Actor award with Vikrant Massey, who impressed everyone with his superlative performance in 12th Fail.

Shah Rukh Khan, seen in a dual role as both father and son, delivered an exceptional performance and won the National Award for Best Actor at the 71st National Film Awards. The film also won another National Award for Best Female Playback Singer, awarded to Shilpa Rao for Chaleya.
