The 27-year-old native of Beaconsfield, Que., scored three goals and 10 assists over 63 games with the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies in 2024-25, his third season with the franchise.

Rifai has two games of NHL experience, both with the Leafs during the 2023-24 season.

Following a four-year stay with Harvard University, Rifai joined the Maple Leafs’ organization in 2022-23 and is currently entering the first season of a two-year, $1.55 million deal.

The Maple Leafs have three preseason games remaining before hosting the rival Habs in their season opener on Oct. 8.
