The Week 4 NFL slate got off to a hot start in Arizona on Thursday night, where Sam Darnold’s confident quarterbacking helped set up a walk-off Jason Myers field goal, lifting the Seattle Seahawks over the rival Cardinals.
The rest of this week’s NFL action is also jam-packed with juicy matchups, from Ben Johnson’s Chicago Bears taking on the Las Vegas Raiders, a franchise that openly courted Johnson on the head coaching circuit; and the New York Giants debuting rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart against an upstart AFC contender in the Los Angeles Chargers; to the Detroit Lions looking to test their world-class offense against a Cleveland Browns defense that stunned the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.
Which of Week 4’s games are absolute must-see material? We reviewed the entire slate to pick our favorite contests of the whole weekend, including a spicy playoff rematch between NFC foes and the much-anticipated return of a certain All-Pro pass rusher to his old stomping grounds:

This might be where we find out if Daniel Jones and the Colts are magic or a mirage. Jones’ resurgence in Indianapolis has been no joke, as he’s truly slung it like one of the NFL’s most efficient quarterbacks during the Colts’ 3-0 start. Jonathan Taylor looks even better out of the backfield. But the Rams boast a deeper, more experienced crop of weapons for Matthew Stafford, and their pass rush, led by Jared Verse, easily registers as the toughest Jones and Co. have faced to date. If Indy improves to 4-0 here, they’ll be bona fide AFC South favorites.

The reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles finally flipped a switch in the second half of Week 3’s wild win over the Rams, with Jalen Hurts feeding A.J. Brown before a riotous walk-off field-goal block. Now they’ll be hard-pressed to extend the momentum in Tampa Bay, where Hurts has struggled to get the best of Todd Bowles’ blitz-heavy defenses before. The ever-feisty Baker Mayfield will be without his top target in Mike Evans, but Philly is also nicked up on the defensive side. Everything points to this being a scrappy, sweaty slugfest in the Florida heat.

It’s ironic that Aaron Rodgers all but sought to quarterback the Vikings this offseason, only for Minnesota to turn away in favor of J.J. McCarthy … and now McCarthy won’t even take the field for their anticipated overseas showdown. Instead, it’s Carson Wentz for Minnesota, and that’s actually good news for the Vikings after he helped stabilize Kevin O’Connell’s attack alongside a killer Brian Flores-led defensive effort in Week 3. Can Rodgers avenge his ugly 2024 international loss to the Vikings? He may need Pittsburgh’s front to step up in Dublin.

This is a sad time in the standings for two traditional heavyweights, as both clubs are desperate to avoid a 1-3 start. But that’s not for a lack of firepower, at least in Baltimore, as the Ravens are averaging an NFL-high 37 points per game. For all of Lamar Jackson’s magic, though, the Chiefs have proven to be an especially tough cookie for the former MVP, who absorbed a whopping seven sacks in Week 3. Patrick Mahomes, meanwhile, is set to have the electric Xavier Worthy back at his disposal out wide, which should help lift the Arrowhead crowd.

Dallas may be more of a circus than a contender, which is frankly fine by Jerry Jones, but that’s all the more reason the Cowboys’ return home under the prime-time lights should be a beauty. Or a nightmare, depending on whether you root for this club. This is all about Micah Parsons‘ homecoming, exactly one month after his trade to Green Bay, and boy is he set to feast while matched up with a Dallas arsenal missing CeeDee Lamb. Not to be overlooked is Jordan Love, who carved up the Cowboys in his stellar postseason debut back in 2023.
